I just wrote a tirade about ‘The Angels Take Manhattan’ in email form. I’ve clearly got some issues to work through. Maybe after I write up ‘Mercy’ and 'Three’ I’ll be more appreciative.
I will say this, though: you can’t make “fixed points in time” some big unavoidable thing any more. Not after 'The Wedding of River Song’. There’s a phrase about cakes and eating which is most certainly applicable here.
